Bank Embezzlement Charges
Madison, Wisconsin—Erik C. Peterson,
United States Attorney for the Western District of
Wisconsin, announced that Jean M. Hosking, 62, of Mt.
Horeb, Wis., was charged today with bank embezzlement
in a one count information filed in U.S. District Court
in Madison.
The information alleges that while employed
at the State Bank of Cross Plains, in Cross Plains,
Wis., Hosking embezzled approximately $502,246.52
from that institution.
The case will be scheduled for
an
entry of a plea of guilty before the assigned judge
at some point in the near future. Upon conviction,
Hosking faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in
prison and the entry of an appropriate restitution
order.
The charge against Jean M. Hosking was
the result of an investigation conducted by the Madison
Resident
Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The prosecution of this case has been assigned to
Assistant U.S. Attorney Grant C. Johnson.
