Businessman Agrees to Plead Guilty in Campaign Financing Violations
A Kenosha businessman has agreed to plead
guilty to the charge of participating in a
conspiracy to commit campaign finance violations, United
States Attorney Steven Biskupic
announced today.
According to documents filed in federal
court, Achille F. “Kelly” Infusino helped
conceal that corporate funds were illegally being used
for
campaign contributions. In addition, Infusino
accepted $7,500 in automobile lease payments in exchange
for making contributions to various
political campaigns, the documents allege.
Infusino faces up to one year in prison
and a fine of $100,000.
Infusino is the third person charged
in connection with the alleged conspiracy. Dennis
Troha and John Erickson both have entered guilty
pleas and are awaiting sentencing.
The investigation, headed by the Federal
Bureau of Investigation, is continuing.
The public is cautioned that an information
is merely the formal method of charging an
individual with a crime, and does not constitute
evidence of guilt. An individual is presumed
innocent
until such time, if ever, as the government
establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
