Sparta Man Sentenced for Making False Statement Under Oath
Madison, Wisconsin -- Erik C. Peterson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Kevin S. Kenyon, 44, of Sparta, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb for making a false statement under oath at a bankruptcy hearing. He was sentenced to a three-year period of supervised release, with a special condition that he serve the first six months on home confinement.
Kenyon acknowledged at the plea hearing that when questioned under oath regarding the location of an asset, he provided false testimony indicating that he was still in possession of the asset when in fact it had been previously sold.
The charge against Kenyon was the result of an investigation conducted by La Crosse Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Grant C. Johnson.
