Milwaukee FBI Office Salutes Employees
As 2008 comes to a close, the FBI Milwaukee Division looks back on a year of celebrating the FBI’s 100th anniversary by recognizing the outstanding service efforts of its employees.
During the summer of 2008, the Milwaukee Division’s special agents and professional support employees devoted 100 hours of giving back to the community as the FBI celebrated its 100th anniversary. Employees volunteered to support the Salvation Army’s ‘Feed the Kids’ summer lunch program. Over the course of a week, Milwaukee FBI employees joined Salvation Army staff and volunteers to feed thousands of disadvantaged kids at parks, youth recreation centers, and in designated neighborhoods throughout Milwaukee’s central city and near South side. During the summer months when school is out, the Salvation Army’s ‘Feed the Kids’ lunch provides a nutritious lunch that some kids might not otherwise have. In addition to hitting the streets, Milwaukee employees also helped prepare the lunches for delivery at the Salvation Army’s distribution center.

FBI Employees also supported the Share program, which provides healthy foods and produce for families at discounted prices through a network of Milwaukee area churches. Employees helped sort and bag the affordable foods as part of the 100 hours dedicated to community service to honor the FBI’s 100th anniversary.
In the fall of 2008, Milwaukee special agents were recognized with the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service. At a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. in October, Special Agents Wayne Jackowski, Mark Robel, and George Strong were honored for their hard work and many hours dedicated to the high profile civil rights prosecution case involving beating victim Frank Jude.

FBI Victim Specialist (VS) Monica Rowsey was also recognized this year for her dedication to community service during the annual Career Youth Development (CYD) Image Awards in September. Sadly, Jeannetta Robinson, the founder of CYD passed away the following month. Ms. Robinson was a strong supporter for disadvantaged and troubled youths in Milwaukee for decades. VS Rowsey’s position of helping those who are victims of crime represents the great legacy of what Jeannetta Robinson and the CYD Image Awards have always stood for.
The FBI Milwaukee Division’s employees continue their community outreach into the holiday season with volunteers lending their support to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Store during the period of December 18-22, 2008. The Salvation Army’s Christmas Store allows parents of families in need to walk through isles of donated toys and pick out a free toy to give to their child at Christmas time. The Salvation Army sends 100 shoppers through the store every 30 minutes during the hours of the program. FBI volunteers help sort toys, restock tables, and assist parents with shopping as they select that special toy for their child.
As Milwaukee FBI employees prepare for the coming year and look to the next 100 years of serving and protecting the American people, everyone in the division will continue their commitment to the hard work of and dedication to investigations of federal crimes. And they will also continue to reach out to the community to support FBI partnerships in some very meaningful ways. Employees of the Milwaukee Division are thankful for what they have, and are grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of the United States of America.
